Is Mr. Silver Lining here?
I am seeking and I think I got some of it- some of the Silver Lining.I truly didn’t believe that COVID-19 would become a mega invader in our lives. And when I say our lives, I mean globally. We can’t deny that as people we are quite arrogant. We believe we can fix and solve everything. However, we also agree that life and the different phenomena don’t really ask us when, how, where would it be a convenient time to have a flood, fire, plague, earthquake.etc.Every time it’s a total surprise and a shock that startle us. Even when we expect it, such as a hurricane, we are still venerable since we can’t predict, stop, redirect or change anything- at best we pray for the best.
Yes, there are things beyond us.
But for this pandemic, plague, Magefa in Hebrew, we didn’t bargain for. Who would expect a global pandemic to hit us and literally turn our lives upside down.
Personally, I think it hit us from the outside to the inside, our inside to the core. To the core of our home, where we live and find shelter and protection, and to the core of our being. Something rattles inside us. We can’t pinpoint what this rattle exactly is, but it’s there. I know it is for me.
While we are learning and find ways to adjust to the norm; staying at home, socializing is limited, maybe working from home. There are some people who are still flustered, the unknown that scares them, people get infected and sick and painfully departing this planet.
On three things the world exist by Sharona Lomberg
At the same time, our planet doing exactly the opposite. It has its own silver lining. The birds are chirping, fish seeing and enjoying clear waters in the oceans and streams. The air even started to breath and skies are clear- what a wonderful world.
But where are we to enjoy it? Does it have to be the one way or another?
Does it mean that without us the world will be a happy place to live…. I’m not sure it’s a question or a statement!
The outside is healing; it’s time for us to heal, physically and spiritually.
It would be nice if we got just high enough to look deeper inside ourselves and easily find what we need to bring to this world. What is the light that will brighten our lives and the planet?
It’s just logical that if we were hit inside our core the solution should come from the core. Not only the intellectual rather the spiritual too.
I love the phrase Silver Lining. And I love the human spirit that enables us to see it in any situation.
If we look around us, we’ll see many silver linings. But we have to look up, choose to see the light.

I wonder if we didn’t have the internet in our lives, how differently we would have to deal with the situation.
When I think about the internet per se’ it’s big cold being, that is used for programming, codes, Academia etc.
But as resourceful as we are, we brought the internet to life, and it is one of the most important silver linings we have. It caused us to see our families, talk and share. Celebrate, and cry. We got in touch with new and old friends. We know what’s happening all over the globe and in our city. We can’t go shopping? No problem orders it on line and it will be delivered to your door step. You can even have guided tours online for different places in the world. Places you might have thought you’ll be able to see and enjoy are here for you with all its glory. You are right it’s not the same like talking the street or sailing the seas, but it’s a delight to the ones who couldn’t have until now.
A wonderful silver lining.
Being at home enables you to be with your family. Even though I can truly understand how hard it is for parents, it’s a true present to your children. (Not to get into the issues of schools etc.)
Working from home, a wish of many people, starting a new business, even at these times, time to enjoy your hobbies, the ones you always wanted to do.
Now that’s not necessarily how you imagine it to be, but seize the opportunity. See all those silver linings.
It happened to me too. For a while I wanted to create and design new artwork that I’ll offer as prints.
One morning heading to my office/studio, and unlike any other days I sat down and had a burst of creativity. Literally a burst of creativity. New ideas came to me and poured through my hands to create a new design. Looking at the new images it was obvious to me that to complete them I needed to add a new layer, something different and meaningful that would symbolize our connection to each other. We are so close yet so far.
Of course, what can be more meaningful than the Tzizit, The thread that connects us. I don’t mean to add the image of the Tzizit, rather the real Tzizit, and the physical threads all knotted as one and connected to the image that will remind us that we are never alone. It’s a visual reminder that you can look at and touch.
A knotted Tzizit that is actually attached by a thread to the actual image (the print).
I felt I created something I wanted to share and give from myself as saying, let’s create that silver lining streaks that will connects us wherever we are. As we are instructed to be a light unto the nations.
There are things that are beyond us and we really don’t understand them. Their meaning, causes are hidden from us. And our consciousnesses, which lead me to create a hidden message, a blessing that would be like a code. Something that is not obvious to the eye, but has a hidden message, has a powerful blessing. “Birkat Hakohanim” The blessing of the Kohen Gadol- high priest to the children of Israel at the time of the temple. And these day is a blessing a parent bless their children before Shabbat starts.
These are strange times, but rather than being strangers to each other, I bless each of us to find our inner light. The light the will ignite the rays of light to us like the Thread That Connects Us.
My new series of prints.
